A Little About Myself.
I've always had an interest in code, but I really started putting that interest to work by writing simple scripts to streamline CAD and production for a small marine textiles business. I thrive in environments that require creative solutions to technical problems. I enjoy making things and learning the tools to build something useful—and it's nice if it turns out pretty, too. I decided to pursue that interest and study software engineering.
Now I'm not only writing simple scripts, I'm designing full-stack applications like the one you're currently using.
Things I've Been Working On.
Frontier Companion
- Android
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Room Db
- PostgreSQL
The Frontier Companion is a full-stack Android application for the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia, enabling visitors to explore outdoor exhibits through GPS-enabled interactive mapping. The system integrates three primary components: an Android mobile application with local Room database storage, a Spring Boot REST API backend, and a PostgreSQL database with PgVector for semantic search operations.
Technologies I'm Working With.
My growth as a developer comes from my drive to constantly learn and keep building. Every project is an opportunity to learn something new and find improved ways to solve problems. Right now, I'm primarily working with Java and Spring Boot for building scalable systems and have been diving into this brave new world of AI services.
The best part about developing software — developing myself.
